Any Lefties?

my oldest son is left handed.

everytime he does anything different from the rest of us.....my husband relates this to being left handed.. he is very artistic, detailed, and extremely particular about how he wants things in his little world to be.. this may be because he's 5 - who knows.. are there any traits of left handed people that you lefties may want to share so i can be prepared in the future?.

Thank you for all the responses so far. I am definately going to get the book that you mentioned Zen. I hope it will give me some insight into my wonderful son. He is an amazing little boy.

So smart and he has already been tested and is considered gifted in Math and Science.

If you give him a big puzzle he knows how to put it together so quickly. And he is only 5!

He's always thinking and very specific about everything...I know you said no about this Mommy but what about this....

He is going to keep me on my toes!

I have never met another kid like him....! Not that I am biased but I think he is brilliant.

Writing is a challenge for him...his penmanship is all backwards and I have realized from all your posts that he is trying to write like me and his daddy. This explains a lot of things.

Thank you all and if anyone has anymore thoughts I would love to hear them!

Is it just me, or do j-dubs have "crazy eyes"?

have you ever noticed someone who has a 1000 yard (meters for you english types.

well i keep noticing that dub women in particular have this creepy 1000 yard stare.

and then a while after my wife got dunked she and the kids got in one of those picture booths.

My mother in law and 2 of my sister in laws have that crazy bulgy eyed rabbit stare that I equate with mental illness.

We have 2 sons 5 and 10 months...When we are talking about them in front of them we call them #1 and #2...

My older son calls himself the King of the World.

I also call him Mr. Picky Pants because he is so darn anal retentive.

I'm Happy Today

well today is my wonderful husbands' birthday.. when we were first together he didn't want presents, cake, no celebration at all.. last night he was so excited about his gifts he opened one in the middle of the night.

he wants pizza for his birthday dinner and to go out for ice cream instead of a birthday cake.. i just feel happy that he's come so far and doesn't see birthdays as some evil happening.. wg

It's these little things that really help keep me going. I had been pretty depressed lately because I feel like the WTS is this big invisible elephant that lives in our house...but to see him happy about a birthday makes me just feel like maybe he isn't buying into all their BS anymore.

Getting out of the WT

can anyone tell me if there has ever been a case of jw relatives kidnapping another relative who wished to leave the cult.

even if the restraint only lasted a few hours.

i have an account of a rather stunned female jw who was put under what she described as " house arrest" until the judicial committee threw her out officially.

My sister in law was kept at home until the jc could disfellowship her. She was 15 at the time and they told my mother and father in law to kick her out of the house. They gave her one week and kicked her out on the street with nothing and no one to take care of her.

Her offense was kissing a boy in the backyard and smoking a joint in the 60's.

S*its about to hit the fan with my in-laws

brief history:.

both my wife and i have faded from the borg for about 10 years.

we still maintain close relationhips with the dubs in our family on both sides.. my wife's sister has not only faded, but she has become an ordained minster, thus my mother in law calls her an "apostate" and refuses to have any contact with her.. her 4 year old daughter will stay with my family for about 2 weeks in august.

I would talk to your wife about the Golden Rule...Do unto others.

Would she feel happy if the situation was reversed and someone took her child to see someone who speaks badly about her?

This is just a bad situation for everyone.

Your wife sounds reasonable - I hope she will do the right thing.

Help in Disappearing!!!!!

my family and i have been away from the meetings for about three years but we still are watched carefully and get the occasional "we miss you" visit.

we will be moving out of state 1,500 miles away.

in todays internet age with access to so much info, phone #'s and adresses is it really impossible to truly escape?

I was surprised how much information zabasearch.com has about people. But I suppose its just a compilation of public records that are already available.

If you do not keep up contact with people from your old hall how will they know where you have gone? Also...out of sight out of mind...

When you move if JW's show up at your house - just act like every other householder and slam the door or say no thank you politely.

Your folders may be sent to the new hall where you live and the Elders may make a shepherding visit, that is what was done with my husband - but this can take months.

Just say " These are not the droids you're looking for..."

Good luck and I hope they don't find you....!
